Laboratories
Medical Image processing and AI lab
This laboratory, which is one of the laboratories of the Radiology Technology Department at school of Allied Medical Sciences, was equipped and opened in 2013.
Currently, this laboratory is used to teach specialized techniques and methods of medical image processing for undergraduate & post-graduate students, including a master's degree in medical imaging technology with a focus on MRI, residency courses, related theses, research projects and related workshops.
In addition, this laboratory announces its readiness to implement joint research projects with other related specialists, including radiology, neurology, neurosurgery, and related specialties in the field of medical imaging.
The equipment and facilities of this laboratory can be mentioned below:
Image processing and AI Lab
TLD Dosimetry lab
Amon the other laboratories of the radiology technology department is TLD Dosimetry lab which it is equipped and operates under the supervision of the university's radiation protection affairs.
This laboratory is equipped with an advanced TLD dosimetry device, including TLD Reader, Oven, computer system and related software, TLD 100 and TLD 200 dosimeters,
TLD badge, and essentials for conducting TLD dosimetry tests.
Currently, the facilities of the laboratory are used to carry out dosimetry projects related to master's theses of radiobiology and radiation protection, medical radiation, dissertations of doctoral students in oral and maxillofacial radiology, etc.
TLD Dosimetry lab
Radiology Lab.
In order to get familiar with the concepts of image formation and exposure and film processing, imaging techniques and paying attention to the protection issues related to the use of radiation, familiarizing with the components of X-ray and radiology generating devices and performing radiation related to quality control and dosimetry procedures.
The equipment of the radiology laboratory briefly includes the following items”
Medical Imaging Quality Control Lab.
In this laboratory, while there are the necessary tools for measuring the quantity and quality of radiation, dosimetry and quality control instruments and tools, the students learn practically the most common Medical Imaging QC techniques and procedures.
