The Department of Hematology and Blood Bank

Department of Hematology and Blood Bank

Overview

Hematology and Blood transfusion science is one of the dynamic subjects in medical sciences. This subject is of paramount importance in the assessment of blood compatibility, bone marrow and blood products,cell-tissue engineering, cell therapy and transplantation.  Since hematology and blood transfusion are base of the laboratory clinical field,
the training experienced staff in laboratory hematology and blood transfusion sciences at the master's and doctorate levels is more necessary to support the hematology and oncology consultant using specialized tests and laboratory research.

Mission

The mission of the Ph.D. and MSc programs in our school is to train competent experts who can provide both educational and treatment services
in different fields of medicine where and when necessary.
In these programs, students will get familiar with laboratory hematology and transfusion sciences skills and obtain the competence for education, research and laboratory diagnostic services in different health fields at national and international levels.

Vision

We envision the department of Hematology and Blood Banking as a leader in Hematology and Blood transfusion education and research.

We hoped that graduates  of the Ph.D. and MSc programs will be employed in suitable jobs and play their roles in  society.

It is necessary for the educational group to have international relations with foreign universities so that the country reaches the most favorable level in the field of hematology.

Undoubtedly, the effect of the establishment of the field of hematology on the laboratory systems of medical, educational, research centers and the launch of new technologies in the country can be seen.

Aim

The general goal of training PhD in blood transfusion sciences and MSc in laboratory hematology is to provide scientific and efficient staff for universities,

research centers, medical centers, especially bone marrow transplantation and cell therapy departments,

as well as providing technical managers of hematology laboratories in the country in the field of hematology.
