Specialized Meeting of the Department of Laboratory Sciences with Laboratory Supervisors of Affiliated Healthcare Centers of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences

 

A specialized meeting was held with the participation of the Dean of the School, the Vice Dean for Education, the Head of the Department of Laboratory Sciences, a number of faculty members of the Laboratory Sciences department, and laboratory supervisors and technical officers from medical centers affiliated with Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. The meeting aimed to enhance the quality of education and improve the clinical internship training process of undergraduate students of Laboratory Sciences.

At the beginning of the session, Dr. Mir Davoud Omrani, Dean of the School of Allied Medical Sciences, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of paying close attention to the professional and occupational conditions governing students’ internship periods. He highlighted the pivotal role of laboratory supervisors in creating a supportive, educational, and motivating environment for students.

Subsequently, Dr. Mehrnoush Shanaki, Head of the Laboratory Sciences Department, underscored the necessity of strengthening interaction and continuous communication between academic departments and hospital laboratories. She emphasized the implementation of training programs based on standardized models, direct supervision of students’ educational processes, and the enhancement of the quality of internship programs as key priorities in this domain.

During the meeting, faculty members of the Laboratory Sciences Department and hospital laboratory supervisors shared their perspectives on improving the quality of student education and addressed existing challenges and mutual concerns from both academic and clinical settings.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants expressed their satisfaction with holding this meeting, which was organized for the first time, and emphasized the importance of continuing such sessions and strengthening ongoing communication. In addition, commemorative certificates were presented to the guests by the Head of the Department of Laboratory Sciences and the Vice Dean for Education.
